At the height of the pandemic, QG Group partnered with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance to deliver Tonsemberera — Uganda’s nationwide COVID-19 prevention campaign. Designed to drive awareness, promote safe behavior, and counter misinformation, the campaign reached communities in 11 local languages, ensuring lifesaving messages were both clear and culturally relevant
Through a massive media rollout across 207 radio and 22 television stations, supported by digital platforms and influencer amplification, Tonsemberera achieved a 95% national reach. With an initial media spend of UGX 3.9 billion, QG Group negotiated UGX 25 billion in additional value — transforming a public health mandate into one of Uganda’s most effective and far-reaching communication efforts.
